What makes our congregation!
The General Government serves all Provinces and Sisters by keeping our religious life and mission vibrant and faithful to our Founder. Every six years, the General Chapter meets; bringing together leaders and elected delegates to listen to the Holy Spirit, set future goals, and elect our general leadership. Through this process, the Chapter elects a Superior General for a six-year term, along with four General Councilors, a General Secretary, and a General Treasurer to guide the Congregation.
In daily life, the Superior General serves as the main bond of unity, guiding us spiritually while caring for our communities and resources. She works closely with her General Council to make shared decisions, while the General Secretary manages official records and the General Treasurer oversees central funds. Once a year, the Council of the Congregation including Provincial Superiors, meets to strengthen global unity and plan for our shared future.
Provinces allow our communities to adapt to different countries while keeping strong fraternal relationships, respect for differences, and shared responsibility across the whole Institute. The Province is led by a Provincial Superior (appointed for a three-year term renewable twice) who guides spiritual and apostolic life, visits communities, assigns missions, and reports annually to the Superior General. She is supported by an Assistant Provincial, who steps in during her absence or illness, and at least two Provincial Councilors who help animate provincial life. Financial matters are managed by a Provincial Treasurer under the direction of the Council, while the Council of the Province meets yearly to support vocations, ongoing formation, and regional needs. Finally, before each General Chapter, the Provincial Chapter meets to review provincial life, set apostolic goals, examine finances, and elect delegates to represent the Province.
The local community serves as the basic cell of the Church and religious life, bringing Sisters together for a shared quest for Jesus Christ and a common project, with new houses founded by the Superior General, her Council, and the local Bishop after careful study. Once a year, the Local Chapter gathers all Sisters with the Provincial or her delegate to review activities, shape community projects, approve accounts, and form the local Council. Daily life is coordinated by a perpetually professed local Superior appointed for a three-year term as the main animator and final decision-maker, while material goods are managed by a Local Treasurer on a renewable three-year term to ensure accounts are kept and resources align with Gospel values. Finally, regular visits occur twice every three years to provide a dedicated time for spiritual renewal, reflection, and confidential conversation with the Visitor
