The Oblates of the Assumption (O.A.) are a Roman Catholic religiousโ congregation of missionary sisters founded in 1865 in France by Father Emmanuel dโAlzon and Mother Emmanuel-Marie de la Compassion as part of the Assumption family of religious communities. Their spiritual focus includes evangelization, Christian unity, care for the poor and marginalized, and service to the needs of the Church and society. The mission of the oblates of the assumption in RWANDA Is composed by Seven communities which are : RUKOMO Saints archanges community, saints Anne community, Rilima Community , Burehe community, Rushaki community and Rukozo community .
1.Mission Beginnings in Rwanda -RUSHAKI (1981)
The Oblates first arrived in Rwanda in 1/10/1981 and the fist community is Rushaki, Their mission began at the invitation of the Bishop of Byumba, who asked for religious sisterโs nurses and missionaries to work at the Rushaki Health Centre, located in the norther province of Rwanda near the country of UGANDA.From the beginning of the mission, they focused on healthcare, catechesis (religious instruction), and vocational training (sewing and cooking), especially for women and girls who was not able to continue the secondary school.

RUKOMO SAINTS ARCHANGESย
The mission of the community of saints Archanges Rukomo was Founded in 2003.ย The sisters are doing various activities in this area as:ย Operate a nutrition Centre, educate mothers about balanced life, teaching in Dalzon nursery a school of the Oblates sisters of the Assumption,ย promoting vocations, teaching catechism, doing the sacristy of the Parish, accompanying the young boys who wish to become priest, visiting the poor and the old people who are around the community From the beginning there was only one community after the construction of Sainte Anne complex school there was an urgency of creating in other community near the primary and secondary school, because it was habit far. that is why nowadays we have Two Communities in Rukomo,

BUREHE COMMUNITY
The community of Burehe has been founded in 2007.The sisters are in charge of the BUREHE TSS Secondary school where the young boys and girls study culinary art, hair dressing and tailoring. Their main activities are: Conduct charitable outreach to vulnerable families, Directing and teaching the students of the school of TSS BUREHE.
